What happens to the Timberwolves' player props without Anthony Edwards?
Minnesota played 22 of its 82 regular-season games without Anthony Edwards in 2025-26 and 60 with him. The Timberwolves scored 116.09 points a game without him (median 114.5) against 118.70 (median 119.5) with him. Jaden McDaniels went from 13.82 points (median 13.5) in 31.21 minutes with Edwards to 18.24 (median 17) in 33.47 without him, Rudy Gobert from 11.04 rebounds (median 12) to 12.79 (median 13), Ayo Dosunmu from 12.59 points (median 12) in 27.18 minutes to 18.71 (median 19) in 33.00, and Bones Hyland from 14.60 minutes and 7.26 points (median 6.5) to 21.38 and 11.48 (median 9). Julius Randle and Naz Reid, who took the most of the scoring without him, are gone, LaMelo Ball and Jonathan Kuminga never played a game beside him last season, the last two games without him were end-of-season games the starters also sat, the cause of the absences is unknown from our logs, and these are last season's numbers, not a forecast.
Anthony Edwards will not play for Minnesota against the LA Clippers on Friday, October 30, 2026. The ESPN injury feed lists him as out in an entry dated October 29, 2026; its comment says he “underwent a successful arthroscopic procedure on his right knee Thursday, the Timberwolves announced”, and that he “could miss up to two months”. Donte DiVincenzo (Achilles) is listed out in an entry dated October 5, 2026. Minnesota has played five games this season, four with Edwards and one without, so most of the comparisons below come from last season: the Timberwolves played 82 regular-season games in 2025-26, Edwards played 10 or more minutes in 60 of them, and 22 came without him. Our logs do not say why he missed those games, so the cause is unknown.
A game counts as with Edwards when he played at least 10 minutes, a fifth of regulation. He never played between 10 and 19 minutes last season; his shortest game in the with group is March 30 at Dallas at 23 minutes. The one game he left early, October 26 vs Indiana after 3 minutes, counts as without him. His last game of 10 or more minutes was April 10 at Houston (27 minutes, 22 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists). Of the 22 games without him, 13 were at home; of the 60 with him, 28.
The Timberwolves, with Edwards against without him
| Timberwolves per game (median) | With, 60 games | Without, 22 games |
|---|---|---|
| Points | 118.70 (119.5) | 116.09 (114.5) |
| Rebounds | 44.02 (44) | 44.27 (44.5) |
| Assists | 25.90 (26) | 26.55 (26.5) |
| Three-pointers | 13.95 (14) | 13.23 (13) |
The team scored 116.09 points a game without Edwards against 118.70 with him, a gap of 2.61 at the mean and 5 at the median, with rebounds and assists about level. Twenty-two games is the small sample here, and they fall in eight stretches across the season, two of them end-of-season games in which the starters sat too, so read the gaps as what happened, not as a rule.
Edwards himself averaged 29.20 points (median 30), 5.02 rebounds (median 5) and 3.77 assists (median 4) in 35.52 minutes (median 37) in the 60 games he played.

Every figure is per game the player played, in the group of games shown. Games with and games without count the games each player appeared in, so a player who missed games himself has a smaller count than the group: McDaniels played 17 of the 22 games without Edwards and sat five of the last six of them, Gobert played 19 and sat January 13 at Milwaukee and the last two, and Dosunmu, who arrived on February 8, played 7 of the 11 games without Edwards from March 17 on. Shannon has a row in 25 of the 60 games with Edwards and 18 of the 22 without, and Hyland in 50 and 21. LaMelo Ball, Jonathan Kuminga, Trey Lyles, Isaiah Evans and Cody Williams did not play for Minnesota in 2025-26, so they have no column at all.
The players who have left
| Player | Games with, without | Minutes with | Minutes without | Points with (median) | Points without (median) | Assists with | Assists without |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Julius Randle | 59, 20 | 32.95 | 33.40 | 20.07 (19) | 24.15 (24) | 5.17 (5) | 4.65 (4) |

| Mike Conley | 40, 14 | 16.77 | 23.07 | 3.60 (3) | 7.21 (8) | 2.52 (2) | 4.00 (4) |
Randle, Reid and Conley are not on the roster this season, and between them they took the biggest share of the scoring in last season’s games without Edwards: Randle 24.15 points a game (median 24) in the 20 he played, against 20.07 (median 19) with him, and Reid 15.37 (median 16) against 13.00 (median 12), in about the same minutes. Conley played 6.30 more minutes a game without Edwards. Whatever those minutes and shots become this season, they do not go to anyone in the tables above by default.
The eight stretches, and who else was missing
The 22 games without Edwards came in eight stretches: 5 from October 26 to November 3; 3 from December 12 to 17; January 13 and 16; January 26; 6 from March 17 to 28; April 2; 3 from April 5 to 8; and April 12.

The first five, October 26 to November 3, are the cleanest look: the rest of the rotation played, and McDaniels averaged 20.40 points (median 22) in 34.40 minutes, Randle 27.40, DiVincenzo 17.20 and Reid 15.60. The last two are not: on April 8 at Orlando Gobert, Randle and Conley also sat, and Shannon scored 33 points in 31 minutes; on April 12 vs New Orleans McDaniels, Gobert, Hyland, Randle, Reid, Conley and Dosunmu all sat, DiVincenzo played 8 minutes, and Joan Beringer had 24 points and 13 rebounds in 31 minutes, Shannon 26 points in 35, Zyon Pullin 19 in 31 and Enrique Freeman 13 points and 7 rebounds in 26. Those two games are inside every without column above, so the medians are the safer read for Shannon, Beringer and the bench.
The one game he left early
On October 26 vs Indiana, Edwards played 3 minutes, scored 5 points with 1 rebound and a three, and did not return; Minnesota scored 114. Randle had 31 points in 39 minutes, DiVincenzo 17 in 38, Reid 16 points and 10 rebounds in 23, Gobert 14 points and 18 rebounds in 34, McDaniels 11 in 35, Conley 6 in 25 and Hyland 5 in 19.
Five games this season, four with him and one without
On October 21 at Miami the Timberwolves scored 131: Edwards had 45 points, 10 rebounds and 9 threes in 33 minutes, LaMelo Ball 21 points and 6 assists in 29, Jaden McDaniels 17 points and 8 rebounds in 29, Ayo Dosunmu 16 points in 29, Jonathan Kuminga 12 in 30, Terrence Shannon Jr. 10 in 20, and Rudy Gobert 5 points and 15 rebounds in 33. On October 23 at Orlando they scored 115: Edwards 15 points in 33 minutes, McDaniels 15 points and 6 rebounds in 30, Gobert 14 points and 9 rebounds in 30, Dosunmu 14 points and 9 assists in 27, Shannon 13 in 22, Ball 12 points and 5 assists in 23, Kuminga 11 points and 8 rebounds in 27, and Joan Beringer 9 points and 9 rebounds in 15. On October 25 vs Toronto they scored 117: Edwards 26 points in 28 minutes, Ball 15 points and 8 assists in 17, Shannon 15 in 23, McDaniels 14 points and 6 rebounds in 31, Kuminga 13 in 26, Dosunmu 9 in 23, and Gobert 8 points and 13 rebounds in 31. On October 26 at Cleveland they scored 125: Edwards 47 points in 41 minutes, McDaniels 14 points and 6 rebounds in 37, Shannon 14 in 24, Beringer 12 points and 7 rebounds in 17, Ball 11 points and 6 assists in 31, Kuminga 10 points and 10 rebounds in 36, Dosunmu 9 in 26, and Gobert 5 points and 20 rebounds in 36.
On October 28 vs Golden State, the first game without him, the Timberwolves scored 114: Kuminga 20 points in 32 minutes, McDaniels 19 points and 7 rebounds in 35, Shannon 19 points and 6 rebounds in 27, Dosunmu 17 in 32, Bones Hyland 13 in 16, Ball 8 points and 8 assists in 28, Trey Lyles 7 in 22, Beringer 7 points and 9 rebounds in 20, and Gobert 1 point and 4 rebounds in 20. One game is not a sample.
What this can and cannot tell you
The clearest shifts tied to Edwards’ absence among the players still here are Jaden McDaniels’, 2.26 more minutes a game and 13.82 to 18.24 points at the mean, 17 against 13.5 at the median; Ayo Dosunmu’s, 5.82 more minutes a game, 12.59 to 18.71 points and 3.24 to 6.57 rebounds at the mean, on 7 games; and Bones Hyland’s, 6.78 more minutes and 4.22 more points at the mean, 9 against 6.5 at the median. Rudy Gobert pulled 1.75 more rebounds a game at the mean, 13 against 12 at the median, and scored 2.30 more. Terrence Shannon Jr. played 5.49 more minutes, with his points median moving from 2 to 3. Donte DiVincenzo’s numbers barely moved, and he is out himself.
The roster has changed since. Randle, Reid and Conley, who took the biggest share of the scoring without Edwards, are gone, with Joe Ingles, Kyle Anderson, Rob Dillingham, Johnny Juzang, Julian Phillips and Leonard Miller; Ball, Kuminga, Lyles, Evans and Cody Williams did not play for Minnesota in 2025-26, so the one game on October 28 is the only look at this group without him. With the cause of last season’s absences unknown, the with sample for Dosunmu thin and the last two without games end-of-season rest, none of this forecasts Friday’s game against the Clippers, and none of it says anything about prices.
Where to find these
Each player has a page with every game beside the line: Jaden McDaniels’s points, Rudy Gobert’s rebounds, Ayo Dosunmu’s points, Jonathan Kuminga’s points and LaMelo Ball’s assists. Friday’s lines appear on the Lab board once the game is posted. Quick answers
How many games did the Timberwolves play without Anthony Edwards last season?
22 of their 82 regular-season games. A game counts as with Edwards when he played at least 10 minutes, a fifth of regulation; he played 10 or more in the other 60. The 22 came in eight stretches: 5 from October 26 to November 3, 3 from December 12 to 17, January 13 and 16, January 26, 6 from March 17 to 28, April 2, 3 from April 5 to 8, and April 12, 2026. 13 of the 22 were at home.
What did Edwards himself average?
In the 60 games he played 10 or more minutes in 2025-26, 29.20 points (median 30), 5.02 rebounds (median 5) and 3.77 assists (median 4) in 35.52 minutes a game (median 37). This season he has 45 points at Miami, 15 at Orlando, 26 vs Toronto and 47 at Cleveland, 133 in four games.
Who played more without him?
Bones Hyland averaged 21.38 minutes in the 21 games without Edwards he played against 14.60 in 50 with him, Ayo Dosunmu 33.00 in 7 games against 27.18 in 17, Terrence Shannon Jr. 15.61 in 18 against 10.12 in 25, and Jaylen Clark 17.81 in 16 against 11.62 in 52. Jaden McDaniels went from 31.21 minutes to 33.47; Rudy Gobert and Donte DiVincenzo played about the same minutes either way.
Who scored more without him?
McDaniels averaged 18.24 points (median 17) without Edwards against 13.82 (median 13.5) with him, Dosunmu 18.71 (median 19) against 12.59 (median 12), Hyland 11.48 (median 9) against 7.26 (median 6.5) and Gobert 12.63 (median 14) against 10.33 (median 10). Julius Randle, now gone, scored 24.15 (median 24) against 20.07 (median 19), and Naz Reid, also gone, 15.37 (median 16) against 13.00 (median 12).
Does this tell me what will happen against the Clippers?
No. Randle and Reid, who took the most of the scoring without him last season, have left; LaMelo Ball and Jonathan Kuminga, who play big minutes for Minnesota now, never played a game for the Timberwolves last season; Dosunmu's 7 games without him are a small sample; and the last two games without Edwards were end-of-season games the starters also sat. These numbers describe what happened; they do not forecast Friday, and they say nothing about the prices.
