Each player starts from his recent minutes, with recent games counting most. The estimate then adjusts for his role tonight, teammates ruled out on the official injury report, back-to-backs and returns from absence. On the bars, the purple is the projection and the faint band behind it the likely range.
How accurate are they?
Tested on every game of the 2025-26 season: 64% of projections land within 5 minutes and 84% within 8; the average miss is 4.6 minutes a player (4.4 for starters), 5.3 in October while rosters settle. The likely range holds about 4 in 5 of his games. Starters are NBA.com's posted lineup where a club has one, otherwise our projection, and the page says which.
