Which NHL player prop tools show props, hit rates and shots data without paying?

Quick answer

On October 24, 2026, a 12-game NHL slate, we opened eleven prop tools logged out from Ontario. Six showed an NHL prop board: BettingPros had hit rates, a game log with minutes and shots, and 21 book columns free, with 983 props in its analyzer once they posted; ScoresAndOdds showed last-10-game hit rates and 1,044 player rows; Linemate showed hit-rate cards with time on ice; RotoWire listed 1,658 player rows at 9 books; Covers and Action Network showed prices without hit rates. PropsMadness had no NHL page, Outlier kept the NHL behind its paid plans, and PropFinder, Props.Cash and Unabated showed nothing without an account. We build one as well, the Lab, which is free: that morning it carried 1,303 NHL props in 6 markets across 16 books, with hit rates, time on ice on player pages and an NHL defense vs position table. No other tool we opened showed a free NHL defense vs position view.

Most prop tools list the NHL somewhere. On Saturday, October 24, 2026, after our morning line pull, we opened eleven of them in one browser, logged out, from Ontario, between 07:52 and 08:14 ET, and went back to BettingPros until its NHL props posted at 11:31 ET. We did not sign up, sign in or pay anywhere. The slate was 12 games, and every tool that showed a slate showed the same 12. This page records what rendered, not what the pricing pages promise, and it does not rank anyone’s accuracy.

Every row as read on October 24, 2026, logged out from Ontario: the first pass between 07:52 and 08:14 ET, BettingPros’s analyzer at 11:31 ET. Our own row was counted from the live board at 07:52 ET. Counts are each site’s own: BettingPros’s total is the sum of its game filter, ScoresAndOdds and RotoWire count player rows per market list, ours counts board rows with the over and under in one row.

Hit rates, logs and minutes: BettingPros

BettingPros’s NHL Prop Bet Analyzer loaded logged out at 07:52 ET with all 12 games and a message that the props had not been posted yet. It said the same at every check until 11:17 ET. At 11:31 ET it showed 983 props, 68 to 93 per game, mean 81.9, across 6 markets: Points 266, Goals 245, Assists 228, Shots 222, Blocked Shots 17 and Saves 5. The star rating on every card read 0 of 5 logged out.

Its odds pages did not wait: at 07:53 ET the player props odds page listed 1,224 props by its market menu, and a player’s odds page showed 21 book columns side by side. The two counts come from two different pages read hours apart.

On a prop page the hit-rate chart was free, over L5, L10, L15, head to head and two season windows, and so was the game log tab: this season’s games with minutes, shots, goals, assists and points. Connor McDavid’s showed 10 games, averaging 23.3 minutes and 2.5 shots. The matchup tab was free too, but for the NHL it held game lines, notes and injuries, with no defense vs position box (the NBA matchup tab had one the day before). What was paid: the pick, the projection and the advanced filters.

Prices that day: Plus $29.99 a month, or $119.99 a year; Elite $49.99 a month, or $199.99 a year; a 3-day trial on the yearly plans; and a $0 free tier.

Hit rates by player: ScoresAndOdds

ScoresAndOdds listed 1,044 player rows across its 5 markets: Goals 443, Points 204, Assists 200, Shots on Goal 178 and Blocked Shots 19, each with the best price and an odds compare link. Its player pages carried, free, a prop history by game against the consensus line and the share of the last 10 games over the line; McDavid’s page put his shots on goal at 40% and his points at 80%, with that night’s goals line at 5 books. Time on ice was not shown. The projection column was paid on every row.

Price that day: $49.99 a month, or $149.99 per 6 months, with a 3-day trial at $9.99; no annual plan was shown.

Time on ice in the free cards: Linemate

Linemate was not on our original list; it is here because it showed an NHL prop view that day. Its player trends list held 22 trend cards after a full scroll, in Points, Goals, Assists, Shots on Goal and Powerplay Pts, each with hit rates over the last N games, against the opponent and home or away. Opening a card showed a stats panel with time on ice, free. Opponent defensive rank was one of its paid signals. Price that day: $14.99 a month, or $59.99 a year.

Prices without the research: RotoWire, Covers and Action Network

RotoWire’s NHL props page listed every player priced: 1,658 player rows across 6 filled tables (First Goal 448, Anytime Goal 447, Points 310, Assists 247, Shots 207, Powerplay Points 199), a seventh table, Blocks, empty at the read, and each line at 9 books side by side. The book list was a US one; it did not change for Ontario. There were no hit rates or game logs on the page. Its pricing page, a countdown sale, showed Fantasy Pass at $22.99 a month, or $7.99 a month billed annually, and All Access at $99.99 a month, or $39.99 a month billed annually.

Covers works one game at a time. Its Toronto at Edmonton page had 6 prop markets and listed 38 players for goals scored, 40 for points and 34 for assists, each with an odds comparison across 12 Ontario books. We did not count its other 11 games. No hit rates or game logs, and no paywall seen.

Action Network was not on our original list either. Its shots on goal list showed 6 players with the best price, a consensus and 3 Ontario books; its prop projections were paid. PRO was $14.99 a week, $24.99 a month or $119.99 a year.

No free NHL view: PropsMadness and Outlier

Neither showed anything free for hockey. PropsMadness’s NHL address returned its not-found page, and its sports menu listed the NBA, NFL, MLB and WNBA only. Outlier’s free app opened the NFL and NBA and marked the NHL as a paid sport. Prices that day: PropsMadness $25 a month, or $250 a year; Outlier Premium $19.99 a month, Premium+ $29.99, Pro + React Live $79.99, with annual plans shown as $16.67, $25.00 and $30.00 a month billed upfront.

Nothing without an account: PropFinder, Props.Cash and Unabated

PropFinder’s NHL address sent a logged-out visitor to a sign-in page; its pricing names a free plan with access to one game per league, which needs an account, and paid plans of $14.99 a month or $149.99 a year. Props.Cash’s NHL page led to a sign-in page too; $19.99 a month or $199.99 a year. Unabated’s NHL page describes its odds screen, and the screen itself needs an account; Props+ was $99 a month, or $83 a month billed annually.

Our own entry

We build one of the twelve. At 07:52 ET that morning the Lab’s NHL board carried 12 games and 1,303 props, 96 to 122 per game, mean 108.6, in 6 markets (Anytime Goal 447, Points 251, Assists 221, Power Play Points 193, Shots on Goal 188, Blocked Shots 3), priced across 16 books, with prices pulled at 7:47 AM ET. Counting every alternate line as well, it held 4,572 NHL lines.

Each prop on the board shows its line, the best price across the books and hit rates over the last 5, 10 and 20 games, last season and this season. Each player has a page with every book’s price on every line, a game log against the line and time on ice by window; Connor McDavid’s showed 5 markets for that night’s Toronto at Edmonton game, with his shots on goal line at 11 of 11 books at 3.5. The NHL defense vs position table covered the 2026-27 regular season through October 23, forwards and defencemen apart, with shots on goal, goals, assists, points and power-play points allowed per game and 8 to 12 games behind each cell. Ten games or so is a small sample, and the table prints each cell’s count for that reason. For reading shots props with it, see what stats to check for NHL shots on goal props; for how the books compare on them, see which sportsbook has the best NHL shots on goal odds. The Lab is free.

RotoWire listed more rows than we did that morning, 1,658 to our 1,303, including a First Goal table we do not carry, and one more market table. That is the honest count.

What paying buys

Across the tools that showed a board, the split was the one we saw in the NBA version of this test the day before: the evidence was mostly free and the conclusion was paid. Lines, prices across books, hit rates, game logs and time on ice were free at one tool or another. The pick, the projection and, at Linemate, the opponent’s defensive rank sat behind the paywall. If you want to buy a decision, the paid tiers sell that, and the full price list across sports is in the best paid player prop tools. If you would rather read the evidence yourself, you do not need to pay for it.

The catch with a list like this

Free tiers move, and a prop count is a fact about one slate, and about the hour: BettingPros’s analyzer was empty at 08:12 ET and full at 11:31 ET. This page carries its audit date and times for that reason: every count above is from October 24, 2026, logged out from Ontario, and every price was read off the vendor’s own page that morning in US dollars.

No affiliate links, no referral codes, and no vendor was contacted. We build one of the tools on the list.

Quick answers

What is the best free NHL prop tool?

It depends on what you read. Logged out on October 24, 2026, BettingPros showed hit rates over L5, L10 and L15, a game log with minutes and shots, and 21 book columns on its odds pages; ScoresAndOdds showed last-10-game hit rates on its player pages; Linemate showed hit-rate cards with time on ice. We build one as well, the Lab: 1,303 NHL props in 6 markets that morning, each with hit rates and the best price across 16 books.

Which NHL prop tools show defense vs position for free?

Of the eleven we opened logged out on October 24, 2026, none showed a free NHL defense vs position view. BettingPros's NHL matchup tab had game lines, notes and injuries but no defense box, and Linemate lists opponent defensive rank as a paid signal. Our Lab has an NHL defense vs position table for forwards and defencemen, 2026-27 through October 23, with 8 to 12 games behind each cell.

Which NHL prop tools need an account?

PropFinder and Props.Cash sent a logged-out visitor to a sign-in page, and Unabated's prop odds screen needs an account. That is a login wall, not a paywall: we did not sign up, so we cannot say what their free accounts show. Outlier is different: its free app opens the NFL and NBA, and the NHL sits in its paid plans.

How much do the paid NHL prop tools cost?

Read from each vendor's own page on October 24, 2026, in US dollars: Linemate $14.99 a month or $59.99 a year; PropFinder $14.99 a month or $149.99 a year; Action Network PRO $24.99 a month or $119.99 a year; Props.Cash $19.99 a month or $199.99 a year; Outlier Premium $19.99 a month; PropsMadness $25 a month or $250 a year; BettingPros Plus $29.99 a month or $119.99 a year; ScoresAndOdds $49.99 a month; Unabated Props+ $99 a month. Prices change; check the vendor's page.

Why count props per game?

Because a slate's size is not a tool's. On a 12-game night BettingPros's analyzer showed 68 to 93 props per game (mean 81.9) and our board 96 to 122 (mean 108.6). On a four-game night every count would be a third of that, and it would say nothing about the tool.

Want tonight's board?

The Lab has the full slate: every line with L5, L10, L20 and season hit rates, game logs, matchup context and the best price at your books. A short daily card of picks is posted before the games and graded in public afterwards, win or lose. The Lab is free, and it stays free.
